The Blues
I've been a bit blue lately. Maybe it is the holidays, family scattered and too busy. The weather, gray and rainy. Hey, but I love the rain! Anyway, today I decided to roll with it, put on some blues music and choose dark blues for the palette. It is quite pretty! Of course prettier in person. They were a bit difficult to photograph properly. In today's bag: Blue gold stone squares and large drops, cobalt squares and faceted beads, raku finish glass beads and a blue dichroic button.
This is a great variety of blue - lovely finishes, shades, and shapes.
ReplyDeleteLots of beautiful blueness! Something peaceful and sad and deeply alive, all at the same time. Sure would love to make something with these beauties.
ReplyDeleteThose blues are beautiful and hope I win!!!!

ReplyDeleteSo sorry you are feeling blue. Hope the Sun comes out & you get that warm feeling again. Gray & Rainy here in Ohio...guess I need some hot chocolate. I get blue this time of the year too. My family is so dysfunctional no one wants to do anything but bicker & fight. So I curl in & just do the best I can.

ReplyDeleteBeing up in Alaska 38 years I think I've only had a couple of holidays with them; but up here pretty much everybody's in the same boat; so friends help you out there. Those blue beads seem especially neat being raku.

ReplyDeleteEvery Christmas is difficult for me since my Dad died. It's been 4 1/2 years....the fifth Christmas without him....my family will forever be fractured without him....it was after he died that I found beading....I must say that it is something I find the time to do everyday.....you are so talented.....always look up....you have so many incredible friends in this field....sometimes friends do it for us better than family....and if you are lucky enough to have both, you are blessed

ReplyDeleteHi Jeanette! My name is Jeannie Maher. Several years ago I was on the board of Capital Area Beading Organization (CABO) in Raleigh, NC, and you came and taught some classes for us. What a great weekend! I am enjoying reading the Hop blogs and hearing how each of you choose items for your de-stash packages! What thoughtful generosity! Best wishes for a very happy Christmas.
